Tunnel ventilation and cabling experts contracted to install key functionality in Doha ,Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Avanceon FZE, a wholly owned subsidiary of Avanceon Limited, announces it has been selected to install essential safety systems at the Qatari landmark transportation project in the GCC. The installation is due to begin mid 2017, concluding in the first quarter of 2018. Commissioning is expected to start during the third quarter 2017 and end in the fourth quarter of 2018. Spanning both the Tunnel Ventilation System and cabling, the project includes tunnels and mid tunnels between 46 stations spread over all four lines of the network: Red, Green, Blue and Gold. The entire tunnel network in this phase of construction is longer than 200 Km, more than double the 75 Km of Avanceon’s previous experience with Dubai Metro.

In order to win the project ahead of several other leading engineering firms, Avanceon recommended a typically high quality and dependable seamless solution. The leading system integrator’s plan to use a SIL2 redundant control system, with SSIL 2 Software to be delivered as per EN 50128 industry standards for railway control systems. Avanceon will also install a SCADA integration based on IEC 60870-5 redundant communications, using over 200 control cabinets in the process.

Mr Bakhtiar H Wain, CEO and Founder of Avanceon, signed final contracts, with the mega project execution to be overseen by Mr Sarmad Qureshi, GM Middle East of Avanceon, and Mr Omer Aziz, Head of Engineering, leading the project team. A highly skilled group of engineers has already been selected for this prestigious project and will be in place when the initial phase starts in mid 2017.
